Description

You are bidding on a very rare promotional 12 inch green glow in the dark vinyl record for Metallica titled "Fade To Black" on Elektra Records and the catalog number is ED 5042 and was released in 1984. The record is in mint condition and the plastic sleeve is in near in mint condition (the yellow sticker has some white spots on it).

 

I will charge only the actual cost of shipping and packaging (no hidden costs). I will ship this the best and cheapest way possible (possibly not what is stated). I will combine shipping if you buy other items so the shipping costs could be higher than what is stated. This will ship from my sister’s location in Chicago.

  

I will ship worldwide but I will need to get the shipping cost to you after you win this auction. Shipping outside the U.S. will be cheaper than what is stated.

This ultra rare flourescent green 12 inch promo single of Metallic's classic "Fade To Black" was released to radio stations back in 1985 to announce that Metallica had signed to Elektra and that their new album would be coming shortly. The label on the sleeve said it all, it was a Music Director blurb from The Friday Morning Quarterback album report of January 25, 1985 which stated: WQFM, Milwaukee, WI. M.D. - Jerry Gavin "A while ago a certain Elektra promo man came by with a copy of the new Metallica LP. I, like many other music directors around the country was skeptical about what I was about to hear, but after I listened to "Fade To Black," I knew that Elektra had something there. Lo and behold "Fade To Black" after about 5 weeks of airplay,  tests in the 80's 19 - 30 adult and in the 90's 30 - 35 men. Don't let the name Metallica scare you off."

I have added a photo of the sticker. The very top part of it shows glue residue which may be what the white spots are.
