Description

This is an outstanding collection of beautiful music recorded live by Miles Davis and his legendary sextet.  The title track is one of Davis’ signature and most beautiful recordings. The remaining tracks here are equally beautiful. Davis assembled a brilliant group for this set, including John Coltrane and Hank Mobley on saxes, Wynton Kelly on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Jimmy Cobb on drums.  The album was released on Columbia in 1961, number CS 8456.  This is the original six-eye stereo release of the album.  The vinyl is in exceptional condition with its bright original luster and just a few very light surface scratches and paper scuffs, none of which significantly impact play. It plays beautifully with just very light sporadic background noise. The vinyl grades VG. The album cover shows a tiny hint of ring wear and very light corner and edge wear.  All seams are clean, sharp, tight, and intact.  There is a small spot of sticker residue on the front. The cover grades VG+.
