USA date:
1973 format:
LP condition:
Vinyl: nm- (looks virtually unplayed with a couple of barely-visible scuffs)
Cover: ex (beautiful with a few faint signs of wear) description:
Amazing musique concrete work composed as a soundtrack for artist Jean Dubuffet's "articulated painting" performance piece, released on Mimaroglu's own label. The gorgeous art cover is, of course, by Dubuffet. Mimaroglu's swirling experimental soundscapes incorporate electronic and acoustic sound sources, and were realized at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center. The last track, Bal Des Leurres, is a text-sound composition featuring tape-manipulated recordings of Dubuffet reading his own poem of the same name.

artist info from album notes:
Mimaroglu studied under Vladimir Ussachevsky and Edgard Varese, composed at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center (alongside Otto Luening, Mario Davidovsky, Bulent Arel, Milton Babbitt, etc.) and the INA-GRM musique concrete studios (of Pierre Schaeffer, Pierre Henry, Francois Bayle, Bernard Parmegiani, Luc Ferrari, Michel Chion, Jean-Claude Risset, Francois Bernard Mache, Ivo Malec, Michel Redolfi, etc.), worked with Jean Dubuffet, ran the Finnadar avant garde record label where he produced essential recordings of Marcel Duchamp, John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Daria Semegen, Frederic Rzewski, and Henry Cowell, and worked for Atlantic producing jazz albums by Freddie Hubbard, John Coltrane, and Charles Mingus. Should be of interest to fans of Tod Dockstader, Herbert Eimert, Rune Lindblad, Dick Raaijmakers, Ragnar Grippe, Jon Appleton, Jean Michel Jarre, Iannis Xenakis, Charles Amirkhanian, Ake Hodell, Fluxus, Sten Hansson, Richard Kostelanetz, Bengt-Emil Johnson, Lars-Gunnar Bodin, John Cage, Henri Chopin, Bernard Heidsieck, Brion Gysin, William S.
