Harrison was privileged to celebrate his sixtieth anniver- sary as a minister of the gospel in May, 1958. The last twenty years of that period he spent in a travelling ministry which carried him to every state in the union, save one. He became a revered Bible teacher, spiritual counsellor and beloved friend to hundreds and thousands in our land during this itineracy. Many will be pleased to have his familiar voice preserved and presented in record form. He was born in Caldwell, New Jersey on December 14. 1874. He grad- uated from Princeton University and also Princeton Theological Seminary. His first Christian work was done in the mountains of Ken- tucky and on the plains of North Dakota before taking his bride to far- away Alaska in the days of the gold rush. Seven years were spent in service among settlers from the States and the native Thlingct Indians. He held four city pastorates—in Pittsburgh. Seattle, St. Louis and Min- neapolis, resigning from the last in order to enter the wider travelling ministry mentioned above. In'addition to his preaching, Dr. Harrison was a prolific writer and has left many volumes on Bible study, devotional topics and prophetic sub- jects. The central theme of his writing and teaching was the message of the indwelling Christ and the believer’s identification with Him. The two messages recorded here are related to this theme. Dr. Harrison passed away on August 9, 1960 at his home in Minneapolis where his daughter Marjorie continues to carry on THE HARRISON SERVICE which publishes his writings and distributes these records. Friends say of him: “One of God's greatest and noblest and most humble servants." . . . “How wonderfully and faithfully he unfolded the deeper teaching of the epistles.
