THIS IS ACTUALLY THE FIRST MONO SLEEVE WITH THE RLP MONO CATALOGUE NUMBER. IT WAS COMMON PRACTICE AT THE TIME (WHEN MORE MONOS WERE PRESSED THAN STEREOS) TO USE THE MORE READILY AVAILABLE MONO SHELLS FOR THE INITIAL BATCH OF STEREO PRESSING. IF THE RECORD SELLS WELL THEN STEREO SLEEVES ARE PRINTED BUT IF THE RECORD IS A POOR SELLER (AND 'COUNTRY, MY WAY' DIDN'T CHART) NO NEW SLEEVES ARE MADE AND FUTURE STEREO RELEASES ARE IN MONO SLEEVES WITH A STEREO STICKER

Nancy Sinatra trades her go-go boots for cowboy boots on Country, My Way, a pop-country platter featuring Sinatra's interpretations of country hits. "Jackson," a cover of the Johnny Cash and June Carter hit that she performs as a duet with producer Lee Hazlewood, was released as a single and made the Top 20. Every pop vocalist from Ed Ames to Margaret Whiting cut an album of country songs, but Hazlewood had an ear for country music and brought in real Nashville session players for authenticity. Hazlewood's style was half country to begin with, so the album isn't much of a stretch for Sinatra. Many of the songs come from the pop end of the country field: Skeeter Davis' "End of the World" nearly topped the pop chart, and it seems as though practically everyone recorded Don Gibson's "Oh Lonesome Me" in the '60s. Hazlewood contributed only one song, "By the Way (I Still Love You)," but his presence is felt strongly throughout.

LABELS: The labels are clean and bright with no marks/unwanted writing and just few light spindles (please see close-up photo of label)
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains its beautiful deep glossy sheen with just a few light marks but these have little audio consequence - the playback is superb throughout - visually EXCELLENT
VINYL Audio: The record is impressively produced and recorded with a strong crystal clear and fresh sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing) there are no scratches, sticks or jumps, no loud clicks or pops and just a couple of light and very minor touches of surfaces noise here and there (nothing continuous and nothing I found at all intrusive on play-grading this wonderful album). The whole LP sounds superb and plays to a very high standard with great clarity, no distortion and no groove-wear and is critically graded a very strong EXCELLENT for audio - very nice copy indeed
SLEEVE: The original front laminated flipback sleeve is also in great condition. The laminate has a deep gloss with very little rubbing, just a couple of small half-moon creases towards the opening edge and all the edges and spine are sharp with very little storage wear. All text on the spine is clear and bold - EXCELLENT
