Description

NEW CHRISTS “Face a New God” RARE 1981 Aussie indie 7” post punk RADIO BIRDMAN

The New Christs – Face a New God 7” (orig. Australia “Green Records” STEREO LRS-076)

Release date: May 1981.  Recording dates: January – February 1981.

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original issue of the first release (independent 7” single) by Sydney-based INDIE HARD ROCK band, THE NEW CHRISTS.  The first line-up of this band recorded these two tracks, but split-up before the 45 was released.  ROB YOUNGER who is better known as the lead singer of RADIO BIRDMAN during their 1970’s period, re-assembled THE NEW CHRISTS in 1983 and it was this revised all-star line-up that supported IGGY POP on his first Australian tour, but that’s another story!
