You are bidding on a very, very rare 1991 Geffen purple marbled Promo pressing of  ‘Nevermind by Nirvana. Rest assured this is a very very rare record and a wonderful opportunity to get your hands on a great investment for the future. It’s not often you get the chance to own the official promo of the most important album of the last quarter of a century. I expect it to sell for a lot of money but rest assured this is an excellent investment opportunity. Purple wax, centre labels have ‘For Promo Use only’ text, and complete with promo sleeve with track listing pasted on.

Just a handful of these were sent ever out by Geffen in advance of the release of Nevermind. As Nirvana were newly signed from Sub Pop and an unknown quantity for Geffen.

Being a big Nirvana fan throughout the 90’s I’d heard of the existence of this record but it took me all of 7 years to actually locate one! And it wasn’t cheap. I am selling now as I need to thin down my collection, but rest assured this has been well looked after and is in pristine condition. There are no spindle lines on the centre labels and the record still has its deep ‘just pressed’ shine. Album is Nr Mint as are the promo centre labels. Original promo sleeve has the track listing taped to the front. This particular copy was sent to a prominent Radio 1 DJ at the time. This is the only one I have ever come across in almost 25 years. You will likely never see another copy of this album. The handful of others made would now be locked away in serious collections out there. This record has no reserve, highest bidder gets it!

Over the coming year or two I will be selling a large portion of my massive record collection. And it will all be on beautiful vinyl! I have been a fastidious collector and all my vinyl will either be in mint unplayed condition or very close. All records have been professionally stored upright in a clean non smoking environment.  Individual descriptions will be given with each record listed. Most of my collection up for sale will be UK & U.S. 1st pressings (with some very cool rare & obscure Oz rarities thrown in too). Music will consist mainly of rare Punk, Rock, Indie/Alternative, with some rare Folk, Psych, Blues & Prog too. There will be hundreds of 1st pressings, test pressings, promos, signed records and probably a bit of rare memorabilia (if I can part with it!) All records will be being shipped from Australia. Please bare this in mind when considering the postage costs, especially if you are outside of Australia. Australia Post prices are extortionate!  I am making it as cheap as absolutely possible. In the interests of keeping a level playing field & due to these outrageous Australian Mail postage charges I will in fact be ending up significantly out of pocket from what I charge you, even more so once packaging is factored in.  I hope the quality and rarity of the records I will be offering will be incentive enough for you to want to bid, and remember I will be happy to offer discounts on multiple purchases. Please rest assured I will not compromise on quality packaging so there will be no damage to your record(s) during shipment. Shipping costs will be combined for multiple purchases making it cheaper.  All records that are not factory sealed will be shipped with record(s) & inner sleeve packaged outside of the outer sleeve to protect against knifing of the jacket. Stiffeners will be added to reinforce the package, corners will be protected from scuffing & bending.
