Description

THIS IS THE LAST ONE I HAVE!

This record has been stored with other record since 1988 and has never been used. The label is in good condition, but the paper on the outside label rim has a little wear. Keep in mind that this record is 53 yrs. old. I tried to get close up shots of the scuffs on the label where the record was packed with other records. The scuffing on the 'Scratching on My Screen' side is on the red part of the label outline.  The scuffing on the 'My Heart Belongs to You' side is on the NRC letters. If you need more pictures, please email.

From the best of the oldies.

By the end of 1957, Cartey was in Atlanta, recording for a new Lowery label, NRC.  In mid-1958 "Scratchin' On My Screen" was perhaps his finest record, with great guitar work by Jerry Reed and Joe South. The song, written by Cartey, was loosely based on the old country blues "Diggin' My Potatoes".

"Scratching On My Screen" is a furious, hot, Rock'n'Roll and one of the best song ever cut by Ric Cartey.
