Description

HERE'S the woman constantly voted the greatest jazz singer of all time, BILLIE HOLIDAY.  From January, 1938, it's one of her classic late-thirties small group recordings, "NOW THEY CALL IT SWING," featuring an all-star lineup including BUSTER BAILEY (clarinet), BENNY MORTON (trombone), TEDDY WILSON (piano), BUCK CLAYTON (trumpet) and LESTER YOUNG (tenor sax).   


This white-label vinyl pressing is of dubbed Brunswick master 22281 take 3, and it's in clean E condition.

Update 6/5:  BELAY THAT "E" GRADE! I just listened to this side, and there is some invisible damage, pressed right into the vinyl, that causes troublesome noises throughout. I guess the metal stamper was dirty or damaged.  A faulty pressing! So, while the record technically IS "E," the sound is compromised in this weird way.  I'm happy to tell you this, instead of you discovering it for yourself.
