Description
This is the 2019 Mobile Fidelity Ultradisc One-Step pressing of Marvin Gaye's What's Going On on two 180 gram 45 rpm discs, numbered 3826 of 7500 produced (see photo). This is perhaps the most extravagant packaging I've ever seen, making the old UHQR records look austere with a huge padded box, two individual jackets for the discs, each with its own cardboard stiffener, and extensive use of gold-look foil stamping on all the paper and cardboard materials. The box set also comes with a gatefold card with the original jacket design, a card with a photograph of an early 1970s urban street scene, and a card explaining the UltraDisc series. The discs themselves are pressed on a "smoked" translucent gray vinyl that looks very striking. The vinyl and insert cards are graded NM. The box, jackets, and labels are graded EX. There is slight wear and dirt on the box, some small scuffs on the jackets from chafing against each other, and slight wear on the labels around the spindle hole. Both discs have been play-graded all the way through on a Merrill-Williams REAL 101 turntable and placed in heavy, double-lined anti-static inner sleeves. The jackets have been given 5 mil outer sleeves, and a 2.5 mil box set sleeve has been provided for the box.
The record will ship via USPS Media Mail for US customers (Priority Mail available at additional cost) and First Class International for foreign customers, in a cardboard box with two corrugated pads for extra protection. I can ship Monday through Thursday, and will ship the record within two business days (excluding Friday) of receiving payment. Returns are accepted within 14 days.
