1/1/23 In answer to a question as to whether this was a first edition or not, I replied:
Thanks for your enquiry. I don’t exactly know to be entirely honest. Being a fan, I’m sure I would have bought it when it first came out (I later bought the CD version). The letters on the main sleeve are slightly raised, embossed letters which discogs suggests could make it a first edition but please do your own research. I’ve had a look at the records, the ‘dead wax’ areas. The markings/ inscriptions are hard to read but I’m pretty sure are the following, which is consistent with what appears on https://www.discogs.com/release/23662-New-Order-SubstanceSide 1: MPO / TOWNHOUSE / FACT 200 A1 / GOODBYE DAVY PILS
Side 2: FACT 200 B1 / THE PLEASURE AND THE PAIN
