Description

For sale is a very rare 1972 vinyl reissue of Nick Drake’s stunning first album- Five Leaves Left. This is the rare Pink Rim Island reissue which did not sell much better than the original 1969 issue.

This is an early reissue, as it comes with one of the original first issue Ernest J Day sleeves, as they still had some left over from the first release. This is in VG+ condition, with a fully intact and readable spine and minor wear to the unlaminated front. Slight discolouration to bottom edge of rear.

Side 1 and 2 labels in excellent unmarked condition. 3u/3u matrices. 1R/1A stampers.

Side 1 visually VG, with a couple of shallow scratches. These, however, do not affect sound quality at all. Plays beautifully with no ticks, clicks, skips sticks or jumps. Just occasional very light crackles. Overall I grade as VG+.

Side 2 visually at least VG+ with only a couple of hairlines. Plays as well as side 1 hence my grading of EX.

Does not have the original Island blue inner.
