Description
This is a genuine 1969 Island label first pressing 10 track stereo vinyl LP, with the black block 'i' logo which is very rare and very desirable.
This has been in the possession of one owner from release; it is housed in the original matt gatefold picture sleeve with the lyrics for three tracks printed inside. The sleeve has the Island and Basing Street address along the bottom edge of the rear of the sleeve (please refer to photos 2 and 3) - only the first issue had these details.
The sleeve is in good/very good condition, with only some scuffing around the outer edges from storage. The vinyl is stored in the original inner sleeve, with polythene lining. The vinyl is in excellent condition, having had very limited play time, and been stored sympathetically in the home for many years. There is only some minor superficial marking on side A and no marking whatsoever on side B: Fantastic quality and sheen. The labels are clean and bright with no spindle wear (photos suggest different shades of pink, but they are both exactly the same, and picture 5 reflects the true colour)
The matrix numbers in the 'dead wax' area are as follows:
ILPS 9105 A // 2, followed by U 1 ILPS 9105 B // 2, the rest of the marking is less clear, but looks like U 1
I have not cleaned this for fear of damage.
