JACKSON BROWNE Ultra Rare NINA MUSIC PUBLISHING DEMO LP HIS FIRST LP ONLY 100 MADE & SENT TO RECORD PRODUCERS

Here's a super rarity - a copy of the 1967 Jackson Brown publishing demo album issued by Nina Music, the music publishing arm of Elektra Records. In 1967 Nina Music signed Browne to a publishing contract, and had him record demos of his songs at Jaycina Studios in New York.

Later that year they pressed two discs for dissemination to record producers, in an attempt to get recording artists to "cover" Browne's songs. The first disc contained 20 of Browne's songs, including early versions of "These Days" (here titled "I've Been Out Walking") and "The Fairest of the Seasons" covered later that year by Nico, of The Velvet Underground on her first solo album, Chelsea Girl.  That's the disc we have for sale here.

Nina also issued a second disc with 10 Browne songs on one side, and 10 on the other side by his friend and colleague, Steve Noonan.  This auction doesn't include this second disc; we are only offering the all-Jackson Browne disc (in the past 40 years, we know of a few copies found separately as this one was.  We think some of these were sent out separately.)  This copy is the only one we know of to have a cover (the few others that have surfaced have been found in plain white sleeves) The cover here is the red-brown Elektra test pressing cover with an Elektra sticker.
