Known Only To Him (Stuart Hamblen) The Songsmen Quartet was organized in Norfolk, Virginia in 1960. There are many words of which might be used to describe the Songs- men Quartet. To mention a few, Wholehearted, Talented, Ardent, but we have chosen Terrific. It makes a lavish claim, but it says what we want it to say. These boys are terrific. With this new album we welcome our newest member, Jack Godsey, one of the best Bass singers in the business. Jack comes from John- son City, Tennessee. He was born on February 25, 1935, He has a wonderful wife and a fine son. Jack is featured on this Album on such songs as “I Wanna Know”, "What A Day” and "No Disap- pointments.” The Sunny Warm Lead voice of Marvin Davis who hails from Birmingham, Alabama, is featured on such songs as, "I Want To Tell All I Know About Him”, "I Just Can’t Hardly Wait”, "Known Only To Him’’, "Till the Storm Passes By”, "Lord Teach Me Flow To Pray”, and "Sweeter As the Days Go By”. The person- able Manager of the Songsmen Quartet, Clifton Graves, coming to the group from Moultrie, Georgia, is featured on "I Know My Lord Will Lead Me Home”, and "No Disappointments”. You will enjoy his rich blending Baritone Voice adding depth to each song on this Album. The Crystal clear Tenor Voice of Jay Davis, the emcee from Statesboro, Georgia, is featured on several of the songs on this Album but the song most suited for his brilliant tenor voice is "Without Him”, written by Mylon Lefevre. This song is a message within it- self for without Christ we arc nothing. With the artful and masterly playing of pianist Ernesteen Woodard who calls Norfolk, Virginia, home, the Songsmen have the rhythm needed on every Song. You will enjoy the great Hymn of the Church "Amazing Grace” arranged by the Songsmen to feature each outstanding voice so as to make this one ageless Hymn worth the purchase of this album. The selections are terrific, Old Timers, Brand Nev; Songs and Spirit- uals that will stir your heart and your feet. Here are twelve of them —most requested.
