Description

This is a STILL SEALED ORIGINAL 1964 IMPULSE RECORDS U.S. STEREO LP titled 'More Blues And The Abstract Truth' from modern jazz arranger / composer Oliver Nelson, who is presiding over a stellar group.  It is Impulse Records U.S. catalog number A-75, gatefold cover, STILL SEALED in its original factory shrinkwrap.
This copy of 'More Blues And the Abstract Truth' bears a 'STEREO' inscription on the cover and spine, but also bears the MONO catalog number A-75 -- From what I have seen on eBay in past listings of this LP with this cover inscription and catalog number this combination would indicate a 1964 first stereo pressing of this LP, with orange and white 1960s-era Impulse labels.  Catalog number shown on the record labels should be the correct AS-75, but obviously as this album is STILL SEALED I have no way to confirm this.  A first pressing is also borne out by the thick brown cardboard construction of the album cover.

Recorded November 10 and 11, 1964. Engineer – Rudy Van Gelder Producer – Bob Thiele       Tenor Saxophone – Phil Bodner (tracks: A1 to A3, B1, B2, B4 Alto Saxophone – Phil Woods Baritone Saxophone – Pepper Adams Trumpet – Thad Jones (tracks: A2 to A4, B2 to B4) Piano – Roger Kellaway Bass – Richard Davis  Drums – Grady Tate
A1   Blues And the Abstract Truth (Trumpet – Daniel Moore)   5:12 A2  Blues O'Mighty   6:45 A3  Theme From Mr. Broadway   5:45 A4  Midnight Blue (Tenor Saxophone – Ben Webster)   4:04 B1  The Critic's Choice (Trumpet – Daniel Moore)   2:19 B2  One For Bob   5:05 B3  Blues For Mr. Broadway (Tenor Saxophone – Ben Webster)   8:10 B4  Goin' To Chicago Blues   4:35
This LP is STILL SEALED in its original factory shrinkwrap, so the record is in 100% pristine condition.  I need to grade the cover of this LP as VG+ even though it is still sealed, as there is a 1-1/2" worn area along the top edge of the front gatefold.  Album lies perfectly flat on both sides with no indication of any bends or warps.  This SEALED LP would be a choice addition to any modern jazz record collection!  Media mail postage within the U.S. is $4.00.  I WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE - PLEASE NOTE: NEW FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL AIRMAIL POSTAGE TO AREAS OUTSIDE THE U.S EXCEPT FOR CANADA (17.50) AND GERMANY is $24.00 - YES IT'S CRAZY, THIS IS THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE AS OF 1/27, NOT ME!!!  PLEASE NOTE: AN EXTRA $13.95 TO COVER REGISTERED POSTAGE WITH TRACKING AND SIGNATURE DELIVERY WILL BE ADDED TO ALL SHIPMENTS VALUED OVER $50.00 GOING TO BUYERS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES.  ALSO, DUE TO THE GERMAN POST AND CUSTOMS CONTINUING FAILURE TO DELIVER MY PACKAGES, I AM FORCED TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL $13.95 TO COVER REGISTERED POSTAGE WITH TRACKING AND SIGNATURE DELIVERY TO ALL SHIPMENTS GOING TO GERMANY.  I APOLOGIZE FOR THIS, BUT I CANNOT CONTINUE TO LOSE MONEY AND HAVE MY EBAY REPUTATION DAMAGED BY THE GERMAN POST AND CUSTOMS' INABILITY TO DELIVER MY PACKAGES.  Please e-mail me for postage rates to other areas outside the U.S.   BUYER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE! I will give an immediate refund (less shipping) upon return of the LP in still sealed condition if buyer is dissatisfied for any reason. Good luck!
