Description

Here is a MEGA RARE vintage original album, the "holy grail" Buddy Holly record up for sale: Buddy's FIRST album, "The Chirping Crickets" this is a scarce 1st pressing, PLUS even more rare is the PROMO marked labels and this relic is still in "play worthy" condition! Released in 1957 by Brunswick Records, BL 54038 (mono), this is a EARLY first pressing with the 50's yellow and black promotional / "SAMPLE COPY" DJ labels. The rear cover has a misprint in liner notes misspelling Lubbock Texas as "Bullock" Texas! The rigid record has been well loved and rates VG, is still quite clean and glossy , has many light marks and a couple of more moderate ones on both sides, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays from start to finish with very good sound quality, some light noise can be heard in quiet spots and between tracks, a couple of errant pops, but no skips, no jumps! The rock n roll really comes through great, a VERY enjoyable listen! The radio station labels show some wear and , one side has number written. The textured paper cover rates VG, front is clean and bright with great portrait of Buddy and the band, has edge/corner wear and all seams have been neatly repaired with tape (binder not readable), top corner has an old sticker mark and black writing, the back has a couple light spot stains (somewhat unnoticeable), back opening has some light stains and a pen signature, has been well cared for and still a decent cover after all these years (see all photos).  THERE IS NO RESERVE PRICE! Will be shipped in a protective plastic sleeve inside a brand new secure record mailing box with tracking number.
