Description

For auction is a Beatles Yesterday and Today 2nd State Butcher Cover with record.  You can see it as the new label is slightly off square and several “wedges” of the original cover are still visible in the upper left and lower right corners.  Further, in the upper right corner an edge of the cover label had slightly peeled back to reveal song names on the original cover underneath (see picture).  Finally, the “V” of Ringo’s turtle neck is visible directly through the paste-over label.  I’ve included an adjusted picture to better show the “V”.

In general the album cover is in very nice condition (my terminology, not record grading).  The front cover is still very nice with only a few superficial surface marks (see pics).  There are no split seams on any of the edges or corners of the cover.  On the rear surface there is a faint “wear” outline of the record but it’s pretty subtle in my opinion.  There is no damage to the cover with the exception of a small “punch” hole in the upper right which I’m told might have been made by a DJ, but I have no direct knowledge of how or why it’s there. The rear of the album cover shows a "3 RIAA" code.

The Mono record is in nice condition and plays through completely.  It does have some very faint surface scratches and a couple other wear marks but nothing that interrupts a song being played.  The labels on both sides are in great condition. There are codes on the record (just outside the label) on each side.  Side 1 is "T 1 2553 G 6". The codes on Side 2 begins with “T” and a “2” imprint over “1” then "2553 F 1".  It looks odd but that’s what it appears to be.  There is no inside sleeve for the record itself.

Compared to the description of other 2ND State Butcher albums this seems to be a bit better.  You’ll be the judge.  Good Luck.

CORRECTION TO RECORD CONDITION:   I describe the record as "nothing that interrupts a song being played". This is true but in playing the record multiple times I want to note all the songs do play through but two songs have a slight "blip" when played.  One the first side at the very end of Nowhere Man there must be something in a groove that causes a blip (for a lack of a better word) where basically one note gets missed.  One side two in the middle of  If I needed Someone there's a similar blip in the recording as well. I don't see any obvious mark in the recordings at those points so I can't explain the cause but wanted to report them.  The recordings all play through without skating or getting stuck on the record.  If these additional conditions causes any bidders to retract their bid, please do so and I understand.
