Sometimes I include albums given to me or purchased from friends or relatives. I do not go to swap meets, garage sales, or thrift stores. I do go to record conventions as time permits. I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to be somewhat conservative in my approach. You are bidding for a mega rare 1959 first pressing of the Buddy Holly Story, volume II and recorded on the Coral label CRL-57326 in High Fidelity. This is the maroon label with silver print and valued at $200+ NM inthe Goldmine guide. The thick 50 year old white album cover is in excellent for its age. There is no ring wear, writing, tape, discoloration or scuffs. There is an upper seam split and what appears to be a price sticker in the upper left corner. There are some slight stain marks on the bottom that can be removed. The liner notes in back are very nice, with a nice note from Mrs. Buddy Holly. The thick record has also held up over the years and the labels are clean, showing only slight spindle marks. Inspected under 100 watt lighting, there were no scratches or grooves, just surface, line marks and a few scuffs. I played the record just prior to listing and did not hear a stick or skip. There were a few soft pops and hisses, primarily between a few of the songs. It was just a super listening experience. The songs include; Side 1, Peggy Sue Got Married, Well All Right, What To Do, That Makes It Tough, Now We're One, Take Your Time. Side 2, Crying Waiting Hoping, True Love Ways, Learning The Game, Little baby, Moondreams, That's What They say. A great collectible in true Buddy Holly style. Based on the Goldmine book, the albums is graded VG+, the listening experience NM- and the record a strong VG. There is no reserve.
