Description
THIS IS A SUPERB FIRST PRESSING (MATRICES A1 AND B1) OF THE ORIGINAL 1968 ISSUE OF THE PURPLE GANG LP “THE PURPLE GANG STRIKES!” ON THE UK TRANSATLANTIC LABEL AND IS SERIOUSLY RARE IN THIS CONDITION! THE VINYL IS IN MINT CONDITION! THE COVER IS IN DECENT CONDITION FOR ITS AGE AND TYPE!! DONT MISS THIS VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY!
The Catalogue Number is TRA 174 on the ORIGINAL TRANSATLANTIC label (see picture) and is a UK FIRST PRESSING.
The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see picture) with NO wear, NO writing, and NO spindle marks that I can see! I BOUGHT THIS RECORD SHORTLY AFTER IT CAME OUT AND IT HAS HARDLY BEEN PLAYED AND THEN ONLY ON TOP QUALITY HI-FI EQUIPMENT. The vinyl is in SUPERB condition with NO scratches, NO scuff marks and NO signs of wear. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS EVERY BIT OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK! The record sounds as STUNNING as the visual! It plays with CRYSTAL CLEAR UNDISTORTED SOUND, NO sticking, NO groovewear, NO jumps, and NO crackle! The record plays SUPERBLY with ZERO DISTORTION! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way! Brilliant!!
The cover is in DECENT condition for its age and type (see pictures) but Transatlantic covers were not the sturdiest in the world.
The cover has also been displayed in a record shop rack which can cause significant damage. Most obviously, the front of the cover has 10 horizontal creases up to 1cm each to the left side adjacent to the spine. The glossy surface has also come away from the cardboard in 2 places adjacent to the spine. There is rubbing and some VERY LIGHT SHORT vertical creases at the top edge of the front cover. There is a 2cm diagonal crease at the bottom right corner and a 1cm diagonal crease at the bottom left corner which effect the back of the cover as well. BUT THE MAIN BODY OF THE FRONT COVER RETAINS ALL OF ITS INITIAL GLOSSY LOOK!
The back of the cover is discoloured in places (see picture), has some ringwear and has a diagonal crease in the bottom left corner.
The spine has 2 short horizontal creases. The open edges have signs of use.
THIS VINYL LP IS RARE TO FIND IN THIS MINT CONDITION. DON’T MISS OUT!
For packaging I use strong record boxes with extra stiffeners to stop damage and bends to the cover. All LPs are sent out with the record packed separately from the original cover to stop splits and damage to the cover.
