Description
Up for auction is an incredibly rare copy of the Otis Redding album "Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul" released on Volt Records (S-412) in 1965. This is a original first stereo pressing in the original factory shrink wrap, still sealed. Original factory hype sticker stating "This LP Contains SATISFACTION" is adhered to shrink wrap, not the actual album cover. Cover is in beautiful shape with virtually no damage or losses. Shrink wrap is almost completely intact except for a tiny opening in the lower right corner (see photos). No cut-out holes. Back is clean, bone white, and beautiful. Cover is copyrighted 1965. I'd grade the cover Near Mint (NM), my highest grade even for still sealed copies. Since the record is sealed, I cannot grade the vinyl, but judging from the beautifully preserved exterior, I can only assume the record is in equally superb condition. Also, it is my understanding that stereo copies of this record are more rare than mono versions. Overall, this is the nicest copy I have ever seen of this rare R&B classic. Good luck finding another sealed copy in this condition. I do not accept returns on sealed albums that the buyer has opened, which is understandable.
