Description
This is the first edition, published in 1968 by Apple, of the reel to reel tape release of 'The Beatles' - 'The White Album'. It is the mono version. Apart from the first and final songs missing about 20 seconds or so due to a break in the tape, the overall condition thoughout is excellent, and appears to have very rarely been played. I have listened through on both sides and the professionally recorded sound is superb, with very silent background, and no dropout or other deterioration to the tape at all. The side one leader is missing, but has been replaced with a plain leader tape. The jewel case and insert are in good condition, as is the side two leader. This is to clarify my comment that the first and last tracks have a small amount of playing time lost from missing tape... track one on side one ('Back in the USSR') plays for 2 minutes and 15 seconds, and the final track on side two (i.e. same bit of tape, other side, end of album) - 'Goodbye' plays for 2 minutes 46 seconds. From this timing it should be possible to work out how much playing time is lost on the missing bit of tape.
My last update should have read that the final track title on side two is 'Goodnight', and not as written. Additional detail - size of spool is five inches.
