Click Image to EnlargeThis is the heavy metal double album titled "Speak Of The Devil" by Ozzy Ozbourne. A live recording at the Ritz in New York City in 1982. The album was released that same year by CBS's Jet Records. Length: 70:16, 12 songs. Catalog #ZX2 38350. In stereo. The records are in new condition. Unplayed. No finger prints, skips, scratches, or sticking. I've owned this since it was released and its been in my album rack in my living room ever since. The gatefold jacket is in good condition.
Included is a B&W publicity photo of the band, printed on an 8½"x11" sheet of paper. This is free - NOT part of the listing price. My feeling is that it would have been nice if this accompanied the LP back in the day for fans to better know the musicians whom they just forked over their wages to. "Speak of the Devil" is a live album released in November 1982. It is a double album consisting entirely of live renditions of songs originally recorded by Osbourne's previous band Black Sabbath. On September 19, 1982, the band consisting of Osbourne - vocals, harmonica, Brad Gillis - guitar, Rudy Sarzo - bass, Tommy Aldridge - drums, and Don Airey - keyboards and the crew arrived in New York City to begin rehearsals for the two shows that would be recorded to comprise the album. Seven days later they performed for their first show at the Ritz before a capacity crowd of 1000 screaming fans. "Speak of the Devil" was released one month before Osbourne's former band, Black Sabbath, released their own live album entitled "Live Evil", a situation which contributed to a growing rivalry between the two camps. In the US, sales of "Speak of the Devil" were much better than those of "Live Evil".
