Description
For sale is a 1972 vinyl release of The Visit! by Pat Martino ( Cobblestone, CST 9015).
This 1st edition is the US Arp pressing! This album is "inspired by and dedicated to Wes Montgomery".
Stamped on the covers is "Compliments of "The Listen To Louie Show" which likely is a reference to Louie Enriquez's radio program "Listen To Louis Show" which broadcast on KBUZAM and FM in Phoenix, Arizone in the late 60's and 70's. Listen To Louie Show was a Latin Top 10 that later moved to KXTC (FM -92.3) and devoted four hours weekly to Latin jazz Saturday evenings from 10 to 2am in the greater Phoenix area.
If you care about radio broadcasting in the Southwest this album is a direct piece of that history as this release was more than likely a gift given to listeners from the local station. Very cool part of latin jazz in AZ.
CONDITION:
Disc is in Excellent Condition and plays with very faint pops on outer tracks noticeable only during quiet spots, amazing sound! Light play wear causes some very faint rotational hiss for first 20 seconds on side 2.
Jacket is in Excellent Condition with light storage wear, a hole punch and some of the laminant bubbling in a few places. Very well preserved and stored on my shelf for the last several decades. Includes original Budah inner sleeve also in great condition!
