THE PAUL BUTTERFIELD BLUES BAND
Mega-rare first pressing of their first album from 1965.
Labels: Elektra Gold label with black text and white 'Guitar Player' graphic logo. A small square white price ticket (24/-) is attached to the top of the Side 1 label. Slight wear to the S1 label has resulted in some fading of the track details. Side 2 is perfect. There are no spindle marks on either side.

Sleeve: US heavy card with pasted rear. No damage, in Ex+ condition. Everything is rigid but there is, as you would expect, evidence of handling and storage. The open edges are quite sharp with little in the way of feathering, the top and bottom seams are worn but intact. The spine text is still readable. There's a small label at the top of each side and also one containing my name (written 1967 before I knew that records would become valuable!)

Vinyl Weight: 140 grams
Vinyl Condition & Grading: The vinyl is deep black, clean and unmarked. Play-grading revealed that, except for the very occasional 'soft tick', each track is remarkably free from unwanted noise; there's none of the clicks, pops and 'frying bacon' that very often come with an album of this age. Even between tracks the absence of noise is surprising; there is surface noise, but the only way to hear it is to whack up the volume much higher than is confortable. If my system cannot spot any irregularities, believe me, there aren't any! Ex+
Album Played For Grading: Yes. (Equipment: Linn Sondek LP12, Linn Ekos arm, Linn K9 moving coil cartridge, tracking at 2 grams into a Cambridge Audio Azur 340A amp and out to a pair of Bose speakers with a Super Woofer)
