Why is this so rare.......

Only a very small number of laminated 1st pressing covers were manufactured. These did not have the hidden braille message to Stevie Wonder on the rear cover, as laminated pressings would have covered the braille writing. One theory is that unlaminated covers were quickly put into production so that the braille message could be added to the rear cover.

This 1st pressing also has the 'WINGS' logo on both sides of the label. Many first pressings either did not have the WINGS logo on the label or only had it one side. This one has the logo on both sides and at the base of the rear cover - where it promotes the WINGS FUN CLUB. 1st pressings also has the 'Gramophone' and 'Apple Record' text on the labels. 

Cover: Garrod & Lofthouse 1st pressing fully laminated (inside and out) gatefold cover - without the braille text at the top of the rear cover. Excellent condition with some spine and edge wear.

I have tried to give a view of the impressive laminate effect in the final two photos but it is difficult to take a decent shot as the camera flash causes some distortion.

Come in it's EMI inner sleeve which is Near Mint.

Inner Booklet: The original inner booklet is complete and stapled to the inside cover - one staple of the three staples has come away from the spine but should be easy to refix. It is complete and in Excellent condition.

Vinyl: Not play tested but both sides lok to be in Excellent condition. Lovely sheen. Faint hairlines only under a strong light. Lightly played and well cared for.

Labels: Near Mint. 'Gramophone' & 'Apple Record' text + 'Wings' logo on both sides.

However, I'm afraid I cannot reimburse you for the postage cost for returning the item.

Gradings......

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and more significant scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
