Paul McCartney - Red Rose Speedway
(Apple PCTC 251 UK LP 1973)
This is the very rare UK original pressing in nice condition! It has a front laminated gatefold sleeve & booklet. Nearly all pressings have a matt sleeve & it is only the earliest pressing that has a laminated sleeve. It comes complete with its original plain paper inner sleeve - which is in very nice condition. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has -4/ -3 matrix stampers. The labels also have "The Gramophone Co..." text under the release year. This wording changed in the same year - so it is very difficult to find one with the "Gramophone" text. Also it has "An Apple Record" text on the labels as well. Again, later pressings do not have this wording. Don't underestimate how rare this true UK 1st pressing is to locate!
Gatefold sleeve & booklet: Very nice! There is mild ringwear on the rear sleeve & mild rubbing wear at the corner tips. There is aslo a very small dink at the edge of the front sleeve. VG+ condition. The booklet is complete & still firmly attached at the staples. It is in excellent overall condition.
Vinyl: Mild sleeve rubs & a couple of light hairline marks. VG condition. Plays very well. The labels are nice & clean & show mild spindle wear only.
Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper cruciform mailer & card dividers). Insurance is necessary if this item exceeds £40.
