Description
Here is a rare original 1932 recording titled "A NIGHT WITH PAUL WHITEMAN AT THE BILTMORE." Recorded in December 1932, released in February 1933. This is a rare 12 inch 78 rpm PICTURE DISC of recordings made at the BILTMORE HOTEL in NEW YORK CITY. The art work for the picture disc is done in an ART DECO design..... The recordings of PAUL WHITEMAN from the 1920-1935 period were immensely popular and he was considered the "KING OF JAZZ" in the BIG BAND style. This record is in overall very good, used condition, and plays well with no skips, but has some surface noise, some light surface scratches which do not interfere with play, and some soiling and spotting on the picture disc surface. It is in very good condition for its age. It comes in an RCA VICTOR RECORDS paper liner which is not original to the record, and there is no sleeve. The song selections printed on the picture disc (see photos) are as follows: WHISPERING, JAPANESE SANDMAN, SOME OF THESE DAYS, IDA, DINAH, WHEN DAY IS GONE, ST. LOUIS BLUES, SWEET SUE, MISSISSIPPI MUD, I CAN'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING BUT LOVE, WABASH BLUES, and THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING. The label is also marked along the bottom RCA VICTOR COMPANY, INC., CAMDEN, N.J.
