VARIOUS ARTISTS – Pebbles, Volume 6: The Roots Of Mod. BFD Records 5023. FACTORY SEALED NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Originally issued in 1980. 19-track compilation covering the early British R&B rock scene of the first half of the 60s.
The final vinyl pressing of Pebbles EVER! Ltd to 250 copies. Bar Code sticker attached on back of jacket: 790168561214. Get them while they last!
NOTE FROM THE LABEL — PEBBLES collections were originally mastered by Greg Shaw, from old singles from his collection. We have not remastered or changed the originals in any way. If you want perfect sound quality, this ain't the place for it. This is the historical original mastering, with all of its flaws and character.

"Pebbles, Volume 6 is a standout compilation album among the LP's in the Pebbles series. Subtitled The Roots Of Mod, Volume 6 is the only album in the Pebbles series that features primarily British music. Twink was one of the members of the Fairies, an under-appreciated British rhythm & blues band; he would later be one of the founding members of a very different band, the Pink Fairies as well as playing in Tomorrow and of course on the standout Pretty Things sessions under the name of Electric Banana. Leave My Kitten Alone is a celebrated Beatles rarity that is one of the standout tracks on the first Beatles Anthology collection — this version was released in 1964, and features a young Jimmy Page. Members of the Cheynes include Mick Fleetwood, co-founder of Fleetwood Mac, as well as Peter Bardens and Phil Sawyer. They released several singles between 1963 and 1965. The real name of the front man for Jason Eddie and the Centremen is Al Wycherley, the brother of Billy Fury, a pop star in the late 1950's. Their experimental treatment of Singing The Blues was released in the U.S. by Capitol Records in June 1966." — MARTIN WINFREE

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers with inside packing.

MIX: This sometimes appears in my title line and refers to a group's/artist's music having a mix of styles such a rock track with jazz then followed by a straight rock track followed by a psych rock track, etc., as opposed to a blues album with the album's tracks having predominantly one style.
