The 2nd studio album ''Chapters Of Depravity'' from the Los Angeles-based old school death metal band PESTILENT DEATH is out to crush again.
A good 3 years after the 2016 debut ''Eulogies Of Putrefaction'', the trio has used to spit out again a filthy pool of Death Metal, which contains 8 morbid pieces and fortunately also operates away from modern productions.
''Chapters Of Depravity'' is almost homage to good old times in its 32 minutes, because if Death Metal is good fun, then please in the manner of PESTILENT DEATH, where it goes pithy and beautiful bumpy to the preserves.
The specter of early '90s Finland looms large across these ''Chapters Of Depravity'' as well as the tendrils of influence the original Swe-Death wave spread across the underground, but instead of offering slavish replication of yesteryear, PESTILENT DEATH instead spit out a rottenly fresh take on pummeling putridity.
This mates definitely understand their craft and succeed in flanking the old school guard in a successful way. '
