GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : colonna sonora molto gradevole con alcuni brani molto interessanti. La prima traccia, "La Valise", è un buon tema jazzeggiante condotto dal pianoforte e con il contrabbasso in sottofondo, "Générique" (a2) con percussioni assordanti e riverberi sonori dei piatti della batteria, "Il Était un Fois Dans le Sud-Ouest" (a3) tema simpatico fortemente ispirato dalle musiche western di Morricone, "Final Pop" (a9) caratterizzata dall'impeto della sezione ritmica, batteria in particolare, con frequenti "breaks" in cui il pianoforte addolcisce il ritmo per poi cederenuovamente il posto alle percussioni e ad una rimarchevole chitarra elettrica. A mio modesto avviso il miglior brano dell'album.  Nel secondo lato le tracce hanno mediamente una maggiore durata. Dopo le allegre sonorità latine di "Tijuana" (b1) troviamo "Love Panoplie" (b2) tema romantico ma con buoni momenti jazz grazie al sassofono validamente supportato da basso e batteria. "Holiday Out" (b4) ha del buon jazz nelle note del pianoforte così come "Un Petit Sax" (b5) per orchestra e sassofono solista. Ultima ma importante "Un Homme & Une Girl" (b6) inizialmente una splendida bossa molto lenta ma che successivamente aumenta la sua ritmicità con ottimi inserti jazz di sax e pianoforte. Notevole la direzione orchestrale di Hubert Rostaing.

Notes : very pleasant soundtrack with some  very interesting tunes. The first track, "La Valise" is a good jazzy theme led by piano with bass in the background, "Générique" (a2) with loud percussion and sound reverberations of drum cymbals, "Il était a Fois Dans le Sud-Ouest "(a3) nice theme greatly inspired by the western music of Morricone,"Final Pop"(a9) characterized by the intensity of rhythm section, drums in particular, with frequent breaks in which piano softens the fast development and then leave again place to percussion and an impressive electric guitar. In my humble opinion the best track on the album. In the second side the tracks have on average a longer time. After the cheerful Latin sonorities of "Tijuana" (b1) we find "Love Panoplie" (b2) romantic theme but with good jazz moments thanks to sax effectively supported by bass and drums. "Holiday Out" (b4) has some good jazz in the notes of the piano as well as "A Petit Sax" (b5) for orchestra and sax soloist. Last but not least "Un Homme & Une Girl" (b6) initially a very nice bossa from very slow development which subsequently increases its rhythmicity with excellent jazz inserts from sax and piano. Hubert Rostaing magnificently conducts orchestra.
