The British version of A Nice Pair -- a reissue of Piper at the Gates of Dawn and A Saucerful of Secrets as a double LP, in the wake of Dark Side of the Moon's success -- is significantly better than its U.S. counterpart, basically because the producers on the U.K. side of the Atlantic got the mastering of the first disc right. That doesn't mean that it didn't have problems of another kind, however, as the cover art generated legal difficulties that required alterations in the design. ~ Bruce Eder
