Vinyl weight: 125g

In my ownership since bought new in 1977. Has been stored in a PVC sleeve (included in sale) in a closed record cabinet. Played only on high-end Thorens TD 166 and Linn Sondek turntables fitted with A&R C77 and E77 cartridges

Sleeve - estimated to be in near-EXCELLENT condition

Made and printed in Great Britain 7701 Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd

Cover - Early-style heavyweight gatefold with one side opening only and the other having a glued flap which has separated slightly towards top. Retains its original shine with minimal scuffing. Light fingerprints evident on black of back cover. No surface creases but numerous light half-to-one inch creases around perimeter which have not damaged the artwork

Interior of gatefold virtually 'as new' with perhaps a little secondary scuffing in places

Spine - The early 'thick' spine. No creasing except at base which has suffered an impact and has worn through to the card too

Edges - Perhaps evidence of very light wear on bottom edge, otherwise undamaged

Corners - As mentioned base of spine is worn and creased, but other corners remain sharp with minimal wear

Inner Sleeve - esimated to be in EXCELLENT condition

The original black printed card inner with rounded corners and grooved top. No damage other than wear one one edge where disc touches

Disc - estimated to be in near-EXCELLENT condition

Anti-static pad applied before each spin though never cleaned

Played infrequently and not for many years prior to testing for this sale

No warping

Retains a bright, clean gloss though slight evidence of groove-whitening on Side 2. Two scuffs (inaudible) near end of Side 1, a very light 1-inch sleeve-scratch visible only under strong light across middle of Side 1 and two similar sleeve-scratches near start of Side 2, all inaudible

No pops, crackles, jumps or sundry unwanted noises and the music sounds as clean as it ever did to my ears

Labels - estimated to be in EXCELLENT condition

Pressing fault (half-inch depression in surface) near spindle on Side 2 otherwise undamaged with no spindle marks

A shame about the impact damage to the base of the spine, but overall this is a very tidy, little used and well cared for example of a '70s Pink Floyd LP

Like most of my ageing LPs it may benefit from professional cleaning

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
