What you are bidding on is a MOBILE FIDELITY HALF SPEED pressing of PINK FLOYD: ATOM HEART MOTHER.  This is in VG+ or better condition, looks unplayed, the cover is great too.  If you need this lp, this one would be great. Pressed in Japan and long out of print.  This is the first numbered edition, this is #6991.  It does not get any better than this. 200gm Anadisc Housed In A Heavy-Duty Gatefold Jacket. In 1994, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab released the Pink Floyd album, Atom Heart Mother, as an ANADISQ 200 LP. The ANADISQ 200 LP was specially plated, pressed on 200 gram Super Vinyl, and mastered using the GAIN system. This release was a limited edition, and featured a heavy-duty jacket, and a dust-free inner sleeve.

Pressing Plant: In 1988, the JVC pressing plant in Yokohama, Japan, that Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab had used to press vinyl albums closed down. In the early 1990s, MFSL spent over a million dollars to build a new pressing plant near Sebastopol, California. This new plant produced vinyl records from 1994 to 1996, before closing down due to rising costs and low sales of vinyl LPs. The Atom Heart Mother ANADISQ 200 LP was produced at the California pressing plant.

Production Information:
Metal Laquer Disc Cutting: To produce an ANADISQ 200 LP, the disc cutting process began with the use of the original stereo master tape. To cut the metal lacquer, the disc cutting turntable was rotated at 16 2/3 rpm, while the master tape was played at one-half the actual recorded speed. This half-speed disc cutting process allowed the cutting stylus twice as much time to carve an accurate groove. The GAIN system was used in the process, which featured Pass SE units with only three gain stages in the signal path. This resulted in minimal signal degradation and better quality discs. No transformers or limiters were used in the process.
Plating Process: MFSL used a unique 18-24 hour plating process where the lacquers were processed into the metal masters and stampers used to produce the ANADISQ 200 pressings. The number of final pressings was restricted to insure the quality of every pressing.

Production Length: Each ANADISQ 200 Original Master Recording release required a minimum of three months to complete.
