Description
I have for sale an excellent plus copy of the following PINK FLOYD iconic LP on vinyl;
DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
EMI Harvest Records SHVL 804
Original UK Press 1973
The Details;
Both sides of the vinyl have been played right through to enable me to give bidders a true reflection of the quality of the record on offer. I believe this to be the correct way to auction records. I understand the grading of records to be a subjective matter but attempt to be as honest as possible and to treat customers to the same standard that I would want to be treated.
A number of pictures are also provided to give bidders a feel of what is on offer.
I will have no hesitation in accepting returns if customers feel the item has not been described appropriately, all I ask is that return postage is paid for.
All records will be packed and delivered in appropriate cardboard mailers / cruciforms as necessary. Records are always taken out of sleeve and 'official inners' to protect items.
The cover:
The gatefold cover complete with the original promotional sticker on the front is graded as very good plus / excellent. The spine is solid. Some minor scuffing around the edges due to storage but nothing to detract the overall quality. The back cover has some minor evidence of ring wear but no split edges or major creases etc.
The sticker is not damaged at all and the cover is the 'blue tinged' version indicating an early pressing
The vinyl:
The key to this package is the quality of the vinyl. Visually it retains a lovely glossy look and is free from any marks, scratches etc. A really clean copy. In terms of playback both sides are excellent plus throughout and bordering on nr mint. No crackling, pops, skips or jumps. Even the quieter aspects of the record are free from static. The intro with the 'heartbeat' rhythms and run-outs are clear from distortion. Grading excellent plus.
The labels and spindles are all in excellent shape.
Accessories
This item comes complete with the 2 posters and 2 stickers all of which are in excellent plus / nr mint condition. The posters have never been used for display and the only folds and creases result from original packaging.
The record comes with a black inner although this probably is not the original but nevertheless is in excellent plus condition.
Summary
I would grade the full contents of this item as excellent. If the sleeve was slightly better then no hesitation in saying excellent plus.
A great example of this record complete with all original inserts and stickered sleeve - a great addition to any rock collection and especially to a collector of everything relating to FLOYD!! A final upgrade copy of the vinyl before seeking the first press version!
