FIRST PRESSING
30 November 1979 UK PRESSING
VERY EARLY MATRIX NUMBERS
THE MATRIX NUMBERS ON THE LISTED ITEM ARE AS FOLLOWS
SHSP 4111 A -2U / SHSP 4111 B - 3U / SHSP 4112 A - 3U / SHSP 4112 B - 2U TML M
THE COVER: IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. VERY CLEAN, UNMARKED, STURDY WITH JUST A MINOR CREASES NEAR TOP CORNER (PLEASE SEE PIC) IF YOU WANT TO BE PICKY. THE INNER GATEFOLD IS AGAIN SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND BRIGHT. ALL THE COLOURED ARTWORK IS VIVID IN COLOUR AND UNMARKED. THE REAR IS AS CLEAN AS THE FRONT, AND THERE IS NO RINGWEAR TO EITHER. 0.5'' SPLIT AT EDGE (NOT A SPLIT AS SUCH BUT CARDBOARD SLIGHTLY SEPARATED) OVERALL RATING IS VERY GOOD
THE INNER SLEEVES: BOTH SLEEVES ARE IN FANTASTIC CONDITION WITH A FEW VERY MINOR MARKS (NOTHING SERIOUS BUT I AM TRYING TO BE AS HONEST AS POSSIBLE) THAT THE SLEEVE THAT HOUSES DISC 2 HAS A 3" WEAR SLIT IN ITS BOTTOM EDGE FROM THE DISC. HOWEVER, THIS IS HARDLY DETRACTS FROM ITS QUALITY AT ALL.
THE VINYLS: ALL 4 SIDES HAVE JUST THE ODD SMALL MARK WHICH ARE VERY HARD TO SEE EXCEPT IN STRONG LIGHT. THE PHOTOGRAPHS REALLY DO NOT DO THEM JUSTICE. AUDIO REPRODUCTION IS NOTHING SHORT OF STUNNING. INSTRUMENT SEPERATION IS AWESOME, VOCALS CRYSTAL CLEAR, AND ALL PLAY WITHOUT ANY SNAP, CRACKLES AND POPS!!! BEING SUCH AN EARLY PRESS, THESE VINYLS ARE AS CLOSE TO THE MASTER AS YOU WILL EVER GET, SO EXTRAORDINARY AUDIO REPRODUCTION SHOULD BE DISCERNABLE- AND HERE IT MOST CERTAINLY IS. OVERALL STRICT GRADING IS NEAR MINT.
THE LABELS: THESE ARE MINT WITH HARDLY ANY SIGNS OF BEING PLAYED.THE HOLE IS NICE AND TIGHT.
I GUESS THATS ABOUT IT REALLY. THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE THE DOUBLE ALBUM BY FIRST CLASS RECORDED DELIVERY ONLY.
I AM ACCEPTING BIDS WORLDWIDE, BUT WILL NOT RELEASE THE ALBUM UNTIL THE FUNDS HAVE CLEARED INTO MY ACCOUNT. HAVE A LOOK AT MY FEEDBACK, AND BID WITH COMPLETE CONFIDENCE.
I HAVE GIVEN THE ABOVE INFORMATION AS HONESTLY AS POSSIBLE, PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE SURE OF WHAT YOU ARE BUYING AS (BEING A PRIVATE SELLER) I DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS.
I AM HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE ANY FURTHER PHOTOS.
VERY REASONABLE RESERVE
(MIGHT BE WILLING TO OFFER BUY IT NOW FOR DECENT OFFER)
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS FROM THE OFFICIAL PINK FLOYD ARCHIVES FOR YOUR INFORMATION
There were around thirteen first pressing issues of The Wall LP. As the metal master tapes (mothers) deteriorated, they were replaced by second generation master tapes. The earlier the mother matrix number, the better is reputed to be the recording.
What is on offer here is a very first weeks pressing taken from the first generation master tapes.
The very first pressings of The Wall are also characterised by the following features:
