Description

🌫️ PINK FLOYD – Obscured By Clouds – Canada mid-70s Harvest LP ST-11078 / SW-11078 EX

🎸 Pink Floyd – Obscured By Clouds
📀 Canadian Harvest pressing, manufactured by Capitol Records-EMI of Canada Limited
🕰️ Issued no earlier than June 1976 (post-’72 reissue, not a first press)
💡 Glossy Canadian sleeve + clean VG++ to EX vinyl

This is the Canadian Harvest label reissue of Pink Floyd’s soundtrack to Barbet Schroeder’s film The Valley. A beautiful, great-sounding mid-’70s Canadian pressing with that classic warm Capitol cut — ideal as a listening copy and still very collectible as an import in the UK.

📀 Pressing / ID details (Source: DISCOGS)

  • Catalogue number (jacket): ST-11078

  • Catalogue number (labels): SW-11078
→ mismatch is correct for this issue

  • Label: Yellow/green Harvest with
“Manufactured in Canada by Capitol Records-EMI of Canada Limited.”

  • Subtitle (rear sleeve):
Music from the film "The Valley"

  • Text on sleeve:
"Capitol" is a registered trade mark of Capitol Records, Inc.
"Harvest" is a trade mark of EMI Records Limited.
    Recorded in England
℗ 1972 The Gramophone Company Limited

  • Runouts / deadwax:

    • Side A (etched): ST-1-11078 ① JPL

    • Side B (etched): ST-2-11078-H-12

    • Both sides stamped: MASTERED BY CAPITOL

    • Side B also bears the ⌾ plant mark

    • Rights Society: ASCAP

These runouts match known Canadian Capitol/EMI metalwork from the mid-’70s repress era.

🖼️ Sleeve

  • Gloss-finish Canadian sleeve (more sheen than the matte UK sleeves).

  • Catalogue number on spine / rear is ST-11078.

  • Back cover includes the three circular film stills and the subtitle credit to The Valley.

  • Typical Canadian thick card construction.

✨ Condition

  • Sleeve: EX — light edge/corner wear only, glossy front still presents extremely well.

  • Vinyl: EX — clean surfaces, high gloss, only light paper scuffs. No nasty marks shown.

  • Labels: EX — crisp yellow/green Harvest labels with minimal spindle wear.

This is much better than the usual “played to death in the ‘70s” copy.

🎧 Why people want this pressing

  • Warm, punchy Canadian Capitol mastering with “MASTERED BY CAPITOL” in the deadwax.

  • Quieter vinyl than many UK-played originals.

  • Still carries the 1972 ℗ credit and the film subtitle on back, so it looks like an early copy in your rack, but you don’t have to baby it like a fragile first press.

Perfect if you love this era of Floyd — Childhood’s End, Wot’s… Uh The Deal, Free Four — and you want an analog copy to actually spin.

🎶 A beautiful EX Canadian Capitol/Harvest reissue of Obscured By Clouds, with glossy Canadian sleeve, clean playable vinyl, and correct SW-11078 / ST-11078 pairing. A great-sounding Pink Floyd import from the mid-’70s — and a smart way into analog Floyd without paying first-press money.
