Description
Up for auction is an original UK pressing of A Saucerful Of Secrets by Pink Floyd, cat no SX 6258. This is the very rare blue/black label mono edition in flipback cover, matrix nos XAX 3633-1 1/M & XAX 3634-1 1/R, so a very early pressing indeed (one of the first couple of thousand).
Condition: quite a few marks on both sides, nothing too deep though, and it still sounds great. Not only does the whole LP play through without jumps, sticks or (much) distortion, the marks play through without unduly affecting the sound too much. Wow, they really knew how to make LPs back then. The cover is in a roughly similar condition: there’s a tear along most of the bottom of the front cover which has been repaired rather untidily (I’m sure the lucky winner can do a much better job), and the usual lamination creases & folds are present, though there’s no writing etc. There’s also some wear around the centre hole of the b-side label, but they’re otherwise fine. All round G+, close to VG-, which may not sound too thrilling, but this really is a pretty serviceable copy of a very in-demand LP, though definitely a copy for listening to rather than archiving.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor), following Record Collector’s grading guidelines, with an extra + or – here & there to separate the wheat from the chaff. I never use mint as a grade for used records. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence! Any questions? Need any more photos or an audio sample? I'm only an email away.
Payment: UK- cheques (preferred) or Paypal. Rest Of World- Paypal. Email for other accepted methods of payment. Shipping: £3 (1st class UK), £6 (Europe) £7.50 (rest of world-airmail). Recorded delivery is an additional £1 (UK), £4 (ROW). Check my other auctions; combine orders & save on shipping costs!
