Description
This A1/B2 first pressing of The Final Cut is in stunning condition. If anyone is after a final upgrade copy of a genuine first press (first mother/stampers also) then it would be extremely difficult to find a better one than this. It remains in superb condition and would not disappoint any fan.
Visual grading
Visually it retains that glossy sheen of new vinyl and I would say has been barely played. There are no scratches and I could not detect any hairlines either. As described below the audio is of a very high standard and is very close to Mint quality.

Play grading
'The Post War Dream' starts with no lead in static and the entire track plays with almost zero interference, nigh on perfect really. 'Your Possible Pasts' plays with almost the same quality. There is just a little static that is audible but honestly it does not detract from the fantastic sound. There are so many quiet sections on this under-rated LP and yet they play superbly with stunning clarity and depth of sound. 'The Gunners Dream' is another classic example of this, you could hear a pin drop in the quieter passages! The ending of this song is so quiet as is the beginning of 'Paranoid Eyes' and yet there is no background noise whatsoever. I cannot stress enough the quality of the audio!
Side Two beings with minimal static. If I'm being overly critical you can hear the faintest of static during the opening track but it is so much in the background that it is barely noticeable. It has totally disappeared by the time 'The Fletcher Memorial Home' plays. The remainder of the side plays to the same standard and is as close to Mint as you will find in my opinion.
In summary the audio on the LP is first class. The depth and richness of sound plus the clarity makes this one of the best A1/B2 first presses I have heard, possibly the best. There is hardly any static at all and if you want a final upgrade archive copy then this is it! I grade honestly and play grade LPs in their entirety and this one is so very close to stunning Mint quality.
Cover
The gatefold cover is in wonderful condition and it is difficult to pick any fault with it. There is very slight rubbing on the corners but the edges are extremely clean with minimal shelf wear. The wide spine remains 100% legible and the opening edge has no handling wear at all. It is certainly one of the cleanest first press covers I have seen. There is one small scratch type mark towards the top of the cover but 99% of sellers would probably not mention it as is not that visible! As can be seen this cover has the title sticker on the front cover which only the early pressings had. The inside of the gatefold and the back cover are in wonderful shape with no marks at all.
Inner sleeve
The vinyl is housed within the original polylined black inner with the die-cut corners and is in superb condition.
Play tested on my Technics SL-J110R turntable system.

The gatefold cover is Near Mint-
The original black inner sleeve is Near Mint- (no splits)
