Description

Pink Floyd The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. This is the ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING. Despite the surface scratches it plays really well.

Front Cover: Good condition - very small tear (4 mm)  top right please see close up picture picture

Rear Cover: Good condition. Flipback is intact and no separation. 

Labels: Very clean -  logos are good with just a few  minor spindle marks. Side  either side of the spindle.

Vinyl:  OK.  There are a lot of surface scratch marks- some very light some not so. I've taken some close ups. It plays well on my very sensitive player and obviously has surface noise. Or as I like to think of it - the patina of the late 1960s psychedelia! 

In detail:

This is a FIRST pressing

Front Cover: Laminated, flip-back sleeve design.

Back Cover: The top right part of the flip-back is blank. It does NOT read "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups". A cover containing this is a repress. Back cover includes title, credits, and song listing. Catalog number in upper right corner. Un-laminated.

Labels: Black Columbia labels with silver text, and a blue "Columbia Records Magic Notes Trademark" at the top, and a blue "Columbia" in the center. A specific font is used with the first pressing. Please compare the photos of my record with those on a record collectors site to confirm the correct label.Track 1 on Side 2, (including all writing credits), should read across one line only. If the artist credits extend to a second line, it is the repress.

Underneath the blue "Columbia" it reads "Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions. See price lists." On most copies, the Tax Code letters "K" and "T" are stamped on the label (on either on side 1 or 2) on each side of the spindle hole. 

Text around the bottom edge of the label starts at 10 o'clock and says:

The Gramophone Co., Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorised public performance, broadcasting, and copying of this record prohibited.
