Description

This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy of the debut LP by Irish group the Pogues, released in 1984.  The group's music is typically described as folk-punk (or punk-folk), but the "punk" part is less in their sound -- the high energy of many of their songs excepted -- than in the songs' often politically inflected lyrics and the group members' roots in late '70s punk (notably, vocalist Shane MacGowan fronted London band the Nipple Erectors/Nips).  And there's the fact that the group's name is a shortened, anglicized version of the Gaelic for "kiss my arse."  The jacket has creasing in one corner, wear in the bottom corners and on the bottom seam, and light creasing along the spine -- EX(+).  The disc has some hairline scraping and light scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise (EX).  The record comes with two record label advertisements, one for music and one for other merchandise.

I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
