PRINCE Lovesexy 1988 Paisley Park 1st Press 1-25720 Alphabet St ~ NM/EX
Prince's tenth studio album, recorded in just seven weeks at Paisley Park after he abruptly shelved The Black Album days before its scheduled release. Lovesexy is the brighter, more spiritual counterpart to that unreleased record — funk, soul, and pop woven together with a gospel undercurrent Prince described as his most personal work to that point. "Alphabet St." was the lead single and hit the top ten on both sides of the Atlantic. "Glam Slam," "Anna Stesia," and "When 2 R In Love" — the one Black Album survivor — round out a record that plays as a single continuous piece, exactly as Prince intended.
This is an original U.S. first pressing on Paisley Park Records (1-25720).
Side 1 carries a -2 second lacquer cut. Side 2 carries a -1 first lacquer cut — the first cutting of the master for that side.
Mastered at Bernie Grundman in Hollywood.
Plated at Specialty Records Corporation, pressed at Allied Record Company, Hollywood, CA.
Manufactured and distributed by Warner Bros. Records. The paisley-patterned gold and red label is correct for the original 1988 issue.
