Description

Well, if copies of Prince's "BLACK ALBUM" are rare, this must be beyond rare. This is an ORIGINAL 12" test record EP containing 4 songs from that album, 2 per side, pressed in 45 RPM speed!!!! Included are the album's first 4 songs, ""Le Grind", "Cindy C.", "Dead On It" and "When 2 R In Love". The plain white labels are from Allied Record Co. in L.A., who pressed for Warner Brothers. The hand written label stickers are dated 11/13/87 and read "1-25677 - A DJ - SH1" and "1-25677 - B SH1". Paisley Park/Warner Bros. 1-25677 was the release number of the cancelled vinyl album. However, in the actual wax are additional (catalogue?) numbers: B-29657 and B-29658...possibly numbers for this proposed EP?? Who knows? Obviously, Paisley Park/W.B. intended to issue the album for clubs and dj's in this form, for which this was a test pressing. The record is in a plain sleeve. Disc is in NEAR MINT condition...been played only to confirm contents. Labels show no storage wear! This is a one-of-a-kind item for only the serious Prince collector!!!!!!!
