Description
Here we have a real shimmering item of beauty from 196 on the red and silver Regal Zonophone label, Procol Harum's classic Shine On Brightly original LP. Having played this through to check the sound quality, I can vouch that it's been played quite a few times but still sounds excellent. There's a fair bit of marking around the centre holes which will tell you that, but it's not a real problem when you hear the sound. It is Mono with the catalogue number LRZ 1004, but the dead wax matrices are XCARX 49-3 and 50-3. As to the surfaces there are no nasty marks on either side, it's in great nick. It shouldn't cause a great problem to anyone's listening pleasure. A judicious clean should give a vast improvement to the overall quality and shift the odd fingermark. Likewise with the cover which has a bit of grubbiness on the back but this can be fixed. There is a small amount of creasing in the laminate on the front but the whole item is a beauty to behold especially at the age of forty two years. This came from a friend's in the pub's collection when he wanted to downsize a bit. Come and have a look, there are more like this coming on shortly.
