Description
The Psychedelic Furs 1981 album 'Talk Talk Talk' on 12-inch vinyl - CBS records CBS 84892, plus promotional poster, biography and publicity photo. The cover is HAND-SIGNED by five members of the band: Richard Butler on the front cover next to his image - he has written 'I love you Richard Butler x' . On the rear cover it is signed by Tim Butler: 'We love you Tim xxx', Roger Morris (who has signed 'To John'), Vince Ely who has signed 'Thanks John' and John Ashton : 'To John - Best Wishes - John Ashton'.
The cover itself is in very good condition, with a stamp 'Property of CBS - demonstration only - Not for resale' in the bottom left corner on the rear. The inner sleeve with lyrics etc is in very good condition. No marks or folds. The vinyl looks to be in good / very good condition with no marks or scratches and looks rarely played. The promotional poster folds out to 30" x 20" (76cm x 53cm) and is in very good condition / as new. The promotional photo is 10" x 8" (25cm x 20cm) and is also in very good condition / as new (it is blank on the rear). The 2-page promotional biography about the band from CBS is also in vgc, with a fold on the staple in the top left corner.
Please note that I am not a dealer or a record collector. The items I am selling are all from the extensive collection of my late brother, John Shaw.
He was a great music and radio enthusiast, working for both BBC and commercial radio stations in the East Midlands from 1980 until 2013 presenting various music shows, mostly folk and rock.
During this period he interviewed many bands and artists in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester and usually had them sign copies of the albums they were promoting at the time.
He produced and presented the nightly rock show 'Castle Rock' on Radio Trent and regularly interviewed bands. I think he interviewed The Psychedelic Furs possibly before a gig at Rock City in Nottingham so I guess this is when he would have had the the record signed, hence the dedications to him as 'John'.
He was also sent many promotional, DJ-only and white-label pressings direct from the record companies.
Sadly my brother passed away in November 2013, so I am slowly disposing of his extensive record collection.
All vinyl will be sent in special secure mailers with stiffeners.
