About the Album:
Frampton Comes Alive! was released in 1976 and became one of the best-selling live albums in history, certified 8x Platinum in the US. It reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the iconic hits Do You Feel Like We Do and Show Me the Way.
About DBX Encoding:
DBX disc encoding was an audiophile noise-reduction format used on vinyl from approximately 1979–1982. A DBX decoder is required to play correctly — without one, audio will sound heavily compressed. This format was discontinued by 1982, making surviving test pressings extremely scarce.
About the Test Pressing Label:
This pressing uses A&M’s official pre-printed test pressing label with fields for Selection No., Artist, Plant, and Date Pressed — with “PITMAN” pre-stamped as the plant. The fields are otherwise blank/unfilled, consistent with an internal quality-control pressing.
Condition:
• Vinyl: Surface marks visible — see all photos carefully
• Label: Official A&M Records Test Pressing label, clean and intact
• Sleeve: Plain white paper inner sleeve included; “SP-3703 C/D DBX” handwritten in pencil on sleeve
• ⚠️ Record 2 (Sides C & D) only — this does not include Record 1
A must-have for Peter Frampton collectors, DBX format enthusiasts, A&M Records historians, or Pitman pressing plant collectors.
