Description

Up for auction is the legendary Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab pressing of Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon. MFSL 1-017
Based on the insert this is the 1979 pressing, not the 1982 pressing.
I will try to be as specific as I can on condition of this LP.   First off it looks great.  No scratches, glossy, pretty flawless visually. A few spindle marks are visible on the label.
Play tested and for some reason there is more crackle than I would expect based on the visible condition.  The crackle is mostly light but audible in quiet spots and a little louder in some spots. Side 1 is more of an issue than side 2, which plays with quieter surface noise.   A deep cleaning may improve. Still plays with dynamic sound quality.  I'm calling it VG for these reasons. So there you go. Not a clean version unfortunately but still a MOFI DSOTM. And I believe this can be greatly improved with an ultrasonic cleaning or some other cleaning method that I don't have access to.
Cover is VG- due to moderate shelf wear and a 3/4" split at top opening. Original MOFI insert and rice paper sleeve.
