Description

This is really an auction for one and a half albums. Consider only side two of the CBS Mastersound half speed mastered Wish You Were Here as side one has a BAD SKIP in the middle of the side.
Okay, for more details:
Columbia CBS Mastersound HC-33453 Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here - cover is shelf worn with a few scuffs, crinkles at the corners and some marks.  LP in a rice paper sleeve of Mobile Fidelity origin...I know the CBS releases came in a different sleeve.  The vinyl appears to be in great shape...but there is a skip in the middle of side 1 which pretty much (for me) rendered it unplayable.  Right after a chorus of "Shine on" there is a guitar riff...and that riff repeats itself forever.  Yep, this isn't just a skip over some music, it is a skip of infinite repeat.
Side 2 plays through just fine, minor surface noise and great sound.  In fact, on this play through I noticed lots of noise in the background I had not noticed before...and it was a cool part of the recording, not vinyl noise!
I purchased this lp used in the 80s and do remember encountering that skip and nearly flipping out!  So, be aware you can really only play side two...thus I decided to bundle this with:

Mobile Fidelity MFSL 1-017 Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon.  This is a classic and if you are looking at this you know how great it sounds so I'll just describe the physical nature of this copy:
cover shows typical shelf wear.  There are scuffs here and there, corner wear, and being mostly black any wear of the cover shows up very clearly!  The cardboard is strong and intact, as is the stiffening insert.  The vinyl comes in the original rice paper sleeve and has some marks in the label area.  There is a ring on both sides around the spindle caused by the record clamp on my old Ariston turntable.  Side 1 also shows some residue marks from the price tag that was on it...I purchased this used in the 80s and it was the practice of the record store to stick a price on the label as well as the cover so people wouldn't swap better quality copies of lps in lower priced sleeves.  On this lp I must have had trouble getting that sticker off!
BUT - none of those things impacts the sound so I played through each side one last time so I can accurately describe this rather than give a visual assessment.  There is minor surface noise on this and you will hear it during the quiet section.  Those opening heartbeats come in at a very low level so you will hear some minor noise but then those beats start rumbling the room and pretty much it all becomes about the music.  A few clicks and pops occur throughout at random, and you will hear minor surface noise during the quiet sections...this is a used album and despite being on that luscious JVC Japanese vinyl it happens!  So don't expect CD silence...but do expect a musically sonic masterpiece!
There are rings on each lp by the spindle (see pictures).  This was caused by my a record clamp on my old Ariston turntable and it is NOT a sign of abuse.  During its time with me it was played on properly set up quality decks from Dual to VPI.  I did notice there is not a ring mark on side 1 of the Wish You Were Here!
