Pink Floyd Piper At The Gates Of Dawn LP Mono 1ST PRESS

Up for grabs is this long deleted and now hard to find vinyl album by Pink Floyd. Entitled The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, this is an original MONO issue on the blue / black Columbia label and is also a FIRST PRESSING (see matrix numbers below). The catalogue number is SX 6157 and the date of issue is 1967. Also included is the original EMI inner sleeve featuring adverts for other LPs, starting with Herman's Hermits in the top left corner, and with the Patents Applied For text at the bottom. The outer cover is a front-laminated flipback Ernest J. Day cover WITHOUT the File Under Pop text in the top right of the back cover. Only the first pressing covers lack this text; it is present on the second pressing cover.

Pressing Details
Side 1 matrix: XAX 3419-2 (this is the earliest matrix number; there were no copies issued with -1 matrices on Side 1)
Side 2 matrix: XAX 3420-1
Side 1 mother and stamper: 1 GD
Side 2 mother and stamper: 1 G
Tax Code: KT in the centre of Side 1 label

Condition

The vinyl is in Very Good Plus condition having just the odd light mark. There is also a small blemish in the pressing (see picture 5 below) on the last track of Side 1 (Stethoscope). It's visible as a white fleck in the vinyl but, having played it, it is not audible at all.

The labels are in Very Good condition, clean and bright with clear, perfect printing but some spindle marks.

The original record company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition having a bit of age discolouration but no splits, tears, writing etc.

The front-laminated flipback cover is in Very Good condition having a bit of age discolouration (mainly visible at the corners) and one scrape mark on the front (see pics below). There is also one tiny scuff on the grey background of the back cover (see picture 9 below). There are no splits, tears, writing, stickers etc. and the spine is complete with no damage and with clear, bright printing.

All my vinyl records are strictly graded according to Record Collector magazine's grading system. Please check my GRADING GUIDE to see a description of each grade. If any item has any writing, stickers, sticker marks, tears etc these will always be mentioned along with the grading. All records are sent in custom-made mailers, with stiffeners, and are packaged outside their sleeves to prevent edge splits.
