Pink Floyd - The Piper at The Gates Of Dawn
(Columbia SX 6157 UK LP 1967)
This is a UK original Mono LP pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve. This has the "File under Popular - Pop Groups" text on the top flipback. It comes with its original company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has blue & black "Columbia" labels. These have "The Gramophone Co..." and "Sold in UK..." texts.
The record has XAX 3419-2 and XAX 3420-1 matrix numbers. The mother stampers are GA 1 and GH 1 respectively. A genuine 1967 UK Mono pressing of this classic UK Psych LP.
Sleeve: There is some mild or more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light or mild rubbing wear to the sleeve opening. There is a small sticker on the rear sleeve. There is some light or mild staining & foxing on the rear sleeve also. There is some light or mild ringwear. There is a small area of laminate creases on the front. VG condition
Vinyl: There are some moderate or considerable, on a few areas, sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are about 4 light marks. A couple of these are quite long. There is a very tiny pressing blob on Side 2 on the 1st track. Good condition. There is a small area of sticker wear & residue on Side 1's label. This has caused a few small tears to the label. otherwise, the labels show mild spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG condition. There is a 12 cm seam split at the centre of the bottom seam. Otherwise, there some light to mild ringwear, fading & creasing.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays VG overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. The aforementioned tiny pressing mark on Side 2 causes about 4 light or mild clicks two-thirds of the way through "Interstellar Overdrive". Otherwise, there are no loud clicks or pops. There are no skips or jumps. Overall, a very reasonable playing copy. It still sounds great overall & any crackle is never too obtrusive.
